We are getting bigger!

CrowdEnergy Update!

We are gearing up for our upcoming relaunch on Indiegogo. Crowd Energy has been joined by a number of very talented volunteers and supporters for the relaunch. We are now working with the team from Branding Ventures to get our PR in order and also a professional animator who will help us to better explain our plans visually. 

With the help of Branding Ventures we are taking all of your questions from the Kickstarter campaign and formatting the answers into a complete Q&A as well as a number of info graphics. 

A lot more people know about Crowd Energy now and that has opened a lot of very interesting opportunities for Crowd Energy to succeed. We are meeting with a number major players in the world of Renewable Energy and startups.

We have a number of corporations considering sponsoring the relaunch and are currently under sponsorship review by SolidWorks which will be an amazing opportunity.

There is a rumor that the Crowd Energy Turbine is being evaluated for use on another planet to provide mission power where there is no solar penetration. Turbines on Europa – we like those kinds of rumors!

“It is impossible to deny the fact that there is a significant need for clean renewable energy”

I have personally known the founders of Crowd Energy (Todd and Phillip Janca) since the late 1970s.
There can be no doubt about their dedication to developing clean renewable energy technology.
They have repeatedly demonstrated their ability to employ state-of-the-art technology in order to achieve design goals.
As a Marine scientist I have worked with these individuals at several Caribbean study sites and have witnessed their ingenuity and motivation.
Additionally, I have received grants to utilize their deep diving manned submersibles for scientific studies. Their piloting skills focus on safety, and ability to reconfigure scientific equipment in order to achieve specific goals is well known.
As soon as the Crowd Energy project transitions from the shore based laminar flow test tank to the marine environment I will be personally involved in assessing any risks associated with possible effects on marine life that might be created by the ocean energy turbine.
It should be remembered that the turbine rotates at extremely slow speeds (between 2 and 20 rpm) and that the neutrally buoyant carbon fiber blades open and close at an equally slow rate.
I have advised the founders of the necessary steps to take in order to collect baseline information on the first oceanic deployment site so that we can monitor any potential impact on marine creatures once my study is underway.
In closing, I would like to state that I am convinced that the Crowd Energy sub-sea power generation system will offer a significant benefit to mankind.

It gives me great pleasure to endorse the CROWD ENERGY ocean energy turbine concept.
I have known the founder of CROWD ENERGY for over 25 years. His subsea engineering group have repeatedly demonstrated their ability to successfully design, build, implement, and operate large-scale subsea projects.
I am convinced that the CROWD ENERGY ocean turbine is a technologically viable project.
Crowd Energy has solved a problem that other ocean current turbines have not been able to address; specifically, utilizing the hydrodynamic power density of significant ocean currents efficiently.
From an engineering standpoint, a slow rotation/high torque turbine is much better for the marine environment.
Powerful ocean currents like the Gulf Stream and the Kuroshio are reliable and provide a constant source of clean renewable energy with minimal impact on the environment.
CROWD ENERGY is the right group to make this project happen based on their expertise and decades of experience.
I am personally excited to see their project come closer to realization. Of course some scale models and tests may require additional engineering improvement, but the idea is so interesting and promising.
It is clear that this dynamic subsea engineering group are dedicated to reducing the negative impact of fossil fuels on the environment and the success of their project will give benefits to the mankind.
